Contributions by ex-Principals RDC
1. Dr. Malikarjuna Rao : The first Principal of our college. He was the Principal from 01.08.1977 to 01.09.1977. He was gentleman.
2. Dr. Y. Saraswathi Rao: She was the Principal from 01.09.1977 to 29.07.1983. She was the most dynamic lady, highly strict, and the best administrator. She inspired students for discipline and learning. Students and Staff admired her. The results were outstanding during her regime. The college was profound of her.
3. Dr. E. Maheshwara Rao: He was the Principal for long period from 28.09.1983 to 30.04.2002. He inspired students for discipline and leaning. He was very simple but man of high thinking. The students and Staff admired him. The results were outstanding during his regime. The Group ‘A’ status was conferred to the teaching staff during his regime on 15.05.1998 by the Railway Board.
Dr. Sopan Kasinath published a book Direct Taxes during his regime.
The sports persons were encouraged to participate in Inter College activities. Computers were introduced during his regime. He inspired faculty to learn Yoga. Dr. Sopan Kasinath underwent Yoga training during his regime. The college was profound of him and his achievements.
4. Dr. Nagamaheshwar Reddy: He was the Principal from 01.05.2002 to 02.04.2007 i.e. for about 5 years. The college was on the lines of discipline and punctuality. The teaching and non-teaching staff were quite happy. The students admired him.
5. Dr. D. V. Nalini Devi: Dr. Dr. D.V. Nalini Devi joined Railway Degree College on 22 July, 1980 as Lecturer in Commerce. Our College Cultural Team made our college proud by securing prize at the national level competitions held at New Delhi under her guidance as Cultural In charge. As Academic Coordinator from 1997-2004, she streamlined the functioning of the Academic Section and maintenance of accounts in office. As member of various committees, she contributed to the college. She was recruited as Principal through UPSC and took charge on 2 April, 2007. Dr. D.V. Nalini Devi as an able and sincere administrator introduced B.Com (Computers) and B.Sc (MSCs & MPCs) as self-financing courses. She was instrumental, in improving college infrastructure. She was the proud recipient of PCPO (SCR) and the prestigious General Manager (SCR) awards. She also received a letter of appreciation from the then PCPO, Sri Manoj Pande for instituting college logo and for overall performance. Dr. D.V. Nalini Devi retired in 41" year of her service on 31 January, 2021 on attaining the age of superannuation. Principal, Staff and Students of Railway Degree College wish her a happy and peaceful retired life. She was instrumental in setting up Computer Lab with 73 computers, renovation of Conference Hall, conducted seminars and academic programs. The college Logo and Flag were initiated and unveiled by CPO/SCR, Sri Manoj Pande. The campus recruitment took place during her regime.
6. Dr. G. Bhashyam: Dr. G. Bhashyam joined Railway Degree College as a Lecturer in Commerce in 1983 and subsequently assumed the role of Principal on February 1, 2021. She retired on March 31, 2024. During her tenure as both Lecturer and Principal, the college achieved outstanding university results. On the recommendation of Sri Rajeev Kishore, the then PCPO, the college's name board was put up at the main gate in 2022.Dr. G. Bhashyam played a key role in the construction of the basketball court on the college premises. She was a recipient of several PCPO awards throughout her career at the college. Additionally, she personally funded the installation of 8 CCTV cameras on the college campus. Dr. Bhashyam was also nominated as an Observer for the UPSC (Main) Examinations and conducted several competitive exams. In the academic year 2021-2022, ISKCON served lunch to around 250 students every day for an entire semester. She helped many girl students with clothes, books and bags. During her time as Principal, Colonel Nagesh Chandra Gupta generously sponsored college fees and exam fees amounting to Rs. 9 lakh for needy students of Railway Degree College through the Madhuri Seva Fund, coordinated by the Tri-services Ex-servicemen Welfare Association (TSEWA). He also donated two Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants for the college staff and students. She motivated students to participate in extracurricular activities, games, and sports, while maintaining discipline, decorum, and the college's strong reputation throughout her career.
7. Dr. Sopan Kasinath: He was the Principal in charge from 01.04.2024 to 17.07.2024. He inspired students for discipline and learning. He was instrumental in introducing two new courses viz. BBA and B.Com Finance. He installed 42 CCTV cameras for discipline among the students and staff. The college website was also initiated. The college student’s uniform was also introduced during his regime. He conducted UPSC Prelims examinations in our college apart from Backlog and Regular semester examinations. The Principal Chief Personnel Officer, South Central Railway, Secunderabad released the Handbook of our college, the Basket Ball court was inaugurated during his regime
